High-quality food to support wellbeing and recovery

Catering forms part of the comprehensive care provided by hospitals and residential and care services. Pirkanmaan Voimia is responsible for providing daily meal services to patients in hospitals within the Pirkanmaa welfare region, as well as to residents of housing services for the elderly and people with disabilities, and those receiving round-the-clock care.

We provide our customers with breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and a late-night snack every day of the week. In addition, clients at day centres and activity centres receive their meal services from Pirkanmaan Voimat.

We organise meal services for social and health care services in the Pirkanmaa welfare region in the following municipalities in Pirkanmaa: 
Akaa, Lempäälä, Hämeenkyrö, Ikaalinen, Kangasala, Kuhmoinen, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Pälkäne, Ylöjärvi, Kuhmoinen, Ruovesi and Virrat.

Nutrition

The meal plans are designed to ensure that residents receive the necessary daily energy intake. To ensure residents’ overall nutritional needs are met, cooperation between ward staff and catering staff is of the utmost importance. Ward staff order the items served at breakfast, evening tea and afternoon coffee to complement the nutritional balance provided by lunch and dinner.

We take into account the recommendations of the National Nutrition Council.

Recommendation for today’s menu

The daily meal plans ensure that customers receive a sufficient and varied diet every day:

  • Breakfast: Porridge or gruel, bread and spreads, cold cuts, fresh vegetables, milk, and coffee or tea.
  • Lunch: Meat, fish or chicken in various forms, a hot side dish, salad and/or a hot vegetable side dish, salad dressing, bread and spreads, and milk or buttermilk to drink.
  • Dinner: Soup – or a casserole, salad and salad dressing, bread and spread, accompanied by milk or buttermilk, and dessert.
  • Evening snack: Yoghurt or viili or porridge, bread and spread, cold cuts, fresh vegetables, and coffee or tea.

Even the most demanding special diets are catered for at every meal, tailored to each customer’s individual needs.
